Dr. Peter Floros
Otolaryngologist (ENT) Head and Neck Surgeon BSc, MBBS, FRACS (Orl-Hns)
Dr. Peter Floros is an Australian trained Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon) and Head and Neck Surgeon based in Sydney, NSW and Canberra, ACT.
He began his medical journey at ANU graduating with a Bachelor of Science/Commerce. He then completed his medical internship at the Gold Coast Hospital in Queensland. Following this, he commenced surgical training in Cardiothoracic surgery at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. In 2013, Dr. Floros was successful in applying for Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery training program in NSW, working in various hospitals across Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle.
Upon completion of surgical training in 2017, and being admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, he completed a one year surgical fellowship in Head and Neck and Airway reconstruction surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney where he did specialised training in advanced Head and Neck surgery, Robotic Surgery and complex Airway procedures.
In 2019, Dr. Floros and his family headed to the USA to undertake a two year international surgical fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Oncology surgery and Trans-oral Robotic and Reconstructive Head and Neck Surgery.
This surgical fellowship at Advent Health Celebration Hospital, Orlando, Florida, was under the guidance of Prof. J. Scott Magnuson – a world leader and one of the pioneers in Robotic Surgery. It was during this international fellowship, he trained extensively in the treatment of cancers with robotic surgery and became the first Australian surgeon to perform a robotic Head and Neck Cancer surgery with the Davinci Single Port Robotic system.
After returning to Australia in 2021, Dr Floros commenced private practice and was appointed to St Vincent’s Private and Public Hospitals, Darlinghurst.
